Private medical insurance for when you need to prioritise your health and wellbeing, and that of your family. Private medical cover offers a range of options for medical care, faster access and more flexibility in the treatment you receive, and cover for diagnostic tests, physiotherapy, home nursing and some alternative therapies.

Private medical cover is provided through the BNP Paribas Private Medical Plan, administered by AXA Health. It is available to all permanent employees and those on fixed term contracts, as well as their families.

Our plan provides you with extensive coverage, with no need for medical underwriting, no exclusions for pre-existing conditions and no excess charge on any claims.

You can opt out of receiving private medical cover as a benefit, but you will not receive any extra cash as a result of doing so.

Stronger Minds

Your mind is key to your wellbeing. You can access confidential specialist support for stress, anxiety and depression without the need for GP referral using AXA Health's Stronger Minds service.

In some instances mental health problems can be long-term and considered chronic which often excludes support through insurance plans. Our medical scheme is unique as it covers chronic mental health claims, with no overall limit for out-patient treatment.

Skin and breast cancer – self referral pathways

We know how worrying a possible cancer diagnosis is, so we offer direct referral pathways for breast and skin cancer meaning you don’t need to see your GP first. As soon as you have any concerns you can attend a one-stop assessment, typically within 5 days, to screen thoroughly for cancer.

For breast cancer, this includes: clinical examination, imaging (mammography or ultrasound), biopsies if necessary, with indicative outcomes given on the same day (within 5 days if a biopsy is taken).
