If you or any of your family members over the age of 7 are referred by a GP, you have access to assessment, diagnosis and initial support through ProblemShared. This service is accessible to AXA Health Private Health Cover members, and with the following suspected neurodiverse conditions:

  • Autism
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Dyslexia
  • Dysgraphia
  • Dyscalculia

Following a successful referral from your GP, the service can provide you access to the following:

  • An initial needs assessment to determine the required assessment(s)
  • Online assessment(s), a feedback discussion and a downloadable report on the assessment findings
  • Group sessions following diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism to better understand your condition(s)
  • Sessions with an Education Navigator - they will provide information on the support available in your local area and how to best access it
  • A medication service (if recommended) following a diagnosis of ADHD (self-pay)

How to access Problem Shared

  1. You will require a GP referral to access the service.
  2. Before arranging treatment, either call the AXA Health Personal Advisory Team on 0800 068 6255; or register / logon to your online account using your e-mail address and membership number. It is important you contact AXA Health before seeing the specialist or having treatment so that they can tell you what benefit is available, meaning you don't end up having to pay for costs you're not expecting.
  3. When you contact AXA Health, have your referral information from your GP to hand when you call, or including it when you submit your claim online.
  4. To book your appointment, AXA Health will need to share some personal information with the specialist including medical information. In some circumstance, you may prefer to make the appointment yourself.

  1. Download and open the Peppy app (you can choose a display name later)
  2. Choose 'My employer provides Peppy' and scroll to click 'Next'
  3. Enter your work e-mail address (this is only used once to register - your personal e-mail will be used thereafter)
  4. Select any module, e.g. 'Fertility' for what you are interested in (this can change later)
  5. Set up your profile (all information is confidential)
  6. Take a short questionnaire from Peppy to help them deliver the best support for you
